Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Panther Power Jog-a-Thon?

An annual fundraiser to rally important funding for our school. Panthers ask friends, family members and community connections for donations and then jog on Thursday, April 23rd to earn those donations. The event includes incentives at the individual, class, and school-level, in addition to a high-energy and encouraging jog-a-thon day!

What are the funds used for?

Donations pay for essential teacher salaries and supplies for STEM, PE, art and reading intervention, among other important contributions such as campus improvements and teacher classroom grants. 100% of the funds raised will stay at Poinsettia Elementary this year since the PTA is organizing this event in-house versus using a 3rd party vendor — in 2025, our school raised almost $74,000 but paid 43% in fees. However, organizing it ourselves requires parent volunteer hours, hard work, and YOU!

What is the goal?

Our school goal is 100% participation and at least $60,000!

When is fundraising?

Let's get started! Parents can register on PledgeStar right away and students can start spreading the word! The launch on campus will start after Spring Break on Monday, April 13 and fundraising will finish at the end of day on Thursday, April 23rd.

How does a student fundraise?

Step 1: Parents register their jogger(s) on the Poinsettia Elementary Pledgestar website. Click "NOT REGISTERED FOR THIS EVENT?" and add your information.

Step 2: Students ask friends, families and community connections for donations. You can share via email, social media, link, text, or word of mouth.

Step 3: Donors can give electronically via the Pledgestar website or by check delivered to the front office. Pledges can be made per lap or as a flat donation amount.

How many laps do students run?

It depends on the student. If donating per lap, consider calculating as if students will run 25–30 laps. Students will be limited to 36 laps during their run time.

What is the schedule?

TBD — be on the lookout for an email with specific times.

What happens if it rains on the event day?

In case of rain, families will be notified via email and phone, and the jog-a-thon will be postponed until Thursday, April 30th.

If I have more than one student at Poinsettia, can I combine their fundraising efforts?

Yes! On Pledgestar, follow the steps to register multiple joggers.

Are there incentives for students?

Yes! There are individual and class incentives. At the individual level, students will receive prizes for different donation amounts. At the class level, they will receive rewards for participation at the 50% and 100% participation levels.
